Montgomery County residents have access to the Capital Bikeshare program, which offers more than 2,500 bicycles at more than 300 stations throughout the region. While most residents do travel for employment, the workforce in Montgomery County is vast and diverse as well. According to the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Montgomery County’s top employers include Adventist Healthcare, Arc of Montgomery County, Asbury Methodist Village, Bae Systems Applied Technologies, Bank of America, Booz Allen Hamilton and Chevy Chase Savings and Loan.

Recreation and Entertainment in Montgomery County

There’s no need to travel into Washington, DC to experience the best of this region of the country. In fact, Montgomery County is home to some of the most unique and exquisite attractions. A whopping 33,000 acres are dedicated to vast parkland, and there are 60 galleries, 22 theaters and 50 historical sites and venues to explore. There are more than 410 parks, including state, regional, local and national throughout the county and 100 miles of trailways for residents to bike, hike and run.

Montgomery County is also home to nine public golf courses, more than a dozen country clubs and 22 private courses to take a swing on the greens. Additionally, theater, music and art abound in Montgomery County making it an ideal place to live for virtually anyone.
